Greetings from the East Greetings and felicitations! Brothers, I believe we have had a good year so far and I hope you feel the same. From the installation and MM degree 2 days later to Grand Lodge in April, we have been busy. I feel our first movie night and game night were well received. Now let’s keep the ball rolling. We have 1 petition out for investigation with the promise of more. Please join me in attending Blue Lodge Council on Tuesday March 29th at Evening Star 101 in Unionville. As I get more details, I’ll inform you. Our meeting in April falls on the same day as the Grand Lodge session so we are moving it to the 18th. Hopefully we will vote on a petition. The building committee will also meet that evening. In the upcoming months we will have more game and movie nights. A ladies night with tavern fare will be on May 2 and the program will be a talk on tavern signs by Rich Malley of the CT Historical Society. Rich and WB Jack Pearson were involved in the sale of the Holcomb Tavern Sign and keeping it in Connecticut. Many thanks to both. I expect to have an EA degree on Monday May 16 which will also be our Inspection by our District Deputy RWB Larry Elsner and Associate Grand Marshall WB Frank Way. In June we will be attending church as a group at First Church to celebrate St. John’s Sunday with breakfast at the lodge hall afterward. I’m also planning a table lodge for June. Over the summer we are planning a number of events, one of which is the second annual picnic at the home of Sue and Bob Everest (thanks Bob & Sue). In September, our meeting falls on Labor Day. Therefore we will move our stated meeting to Monday September 12th. Remember brothers, this is your lodge. If you have any ideas for programs you would like to see presented, please drop me a note or give me a call. Fraternally,
Don |
